ABSTRACT
Methyl bromide is widely used as a fumigant. Most toxic exposures occur from direct occupational inhalation. Its intoxication is associated with encephalopathy and neuropathy. We describe neurologic manifestations of two patients with exposure to this agent in semiconductor manufacturing. MRI showed diffuse symmetric lesions in cerebellum, brain stem and splenium of corpus callosum. The patient’s clinical course and resolution of MRI abnormalities suggest reversible encephalopathy.
