ABSTRACT
Severe sepsis and septic shock are major healthcare problems with high mortality and more additional cost around the world each year. In 2004, an international group of experts published the first internationally accepted guidelines. In 2008, this group published the newer guidelines,‘ Surviving Sepsis Campaign: International guideline for management of severe sepsis and septic shock: 2008’ . These recommendations are intended to provide guidance for the clinician caring for a patient with severe sepsis or septic shock.
